INK, PAINT, AND PASTE

Fine Art Inspired by Relatable Redundancy

This is the work with no brief, no client, no deadline. It starts with something I can't put down: a pattern I keep noticing, a feeling I can't quite name, an image that won't leave, or something I'm pushing against hard enough that it has to take form. Four decades of it, across ink, paint, sculpture, and paste. The work I would make whether or not anyone ever saw it.

It draws from the redundant things, the phenomena we move through daily without a second look, the patterns running beneath ordinary life, the visceral details hiding in plain sight. Music runs through it too, somewhere in the rhythm. Each piece carries a specific meaning for me, but I would rather not hand that meaning over. The work is more alive when a viewer brings their own experience to it and finds their own way in.

So each piece is built to stay open: unsettling when it should be, quietly funny when it earns it, always asking more than it answers. Personal enough to feel universal, direct enough to start a conversation I don't get to control. This is how I think when no one is telling me what to make, and it is the truest work on this site.
