HIGH MOON STUDIOS
Logo Design. Research. Iteration. Iteration. Refinement.
The brief arrived in two words: make it badass. High Moon Studios did not want their logo to tell a story or explain itself. They wanted a mark with presence, and the freedom that came with so open a prompt carried its own difficulty. With no narrative to anchor to, the work had to find its direction through research rather than instruction.
Because the logo's primary purpose was talent recruitment, that research began with the culture it needed to attract. I studied the visual language of Southern California surf and skate, examined how other studios under the Activision umbrella presented themselves, and looked for the space to set High Moon deliberately apart from them. The goal was a mark that felt confident and unmistakably its own.
What followed was the real work: iteration, refinement, and many rounds of review, narrowing a wide field of directions down to a single resolved identity. A selection of those explorations is documented here, the path from a two word brief to a logo that earned its adjective.
